Cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, and snowshoeing are also popular winter activities.

Pristine alpine lakes dot the landscape — Lake Mary, Twin Lakes, Convict Lake, and dozens of smaller gems offer exceptional trout fishing and kayaking.
