Job Description
Major Duties: The incumbent will complete thorough psychosocial assessments and include pertinent information in all the required areas of functioning to determine the appropriate diagnoses and other treatment-related conclusions. The clinical assessments must be appropriate to the referral questions. Conclusions are found to be reasonably substantiated by interviews, observations, historical data, collateral data (i.e., from outside sources such as other treatment providers, family members, etc.) and other data when indicated. Clinical BHIP Responsibilities (60% of time) Clinical Community Living Center (CLC) Support (30% of time) Administrative Responsibilities (10% of time) The incumbent may be asked to complete Mental Health evaluations as part of transplant referral. The incumbent will provide DSM diagnoses to determine the appropriate treatment needs of the Veterans and/or their families. The incumbent must be able to utilize this assessment in facilitating the Veteran's maximum use of treatment for attainment of the highest level of independence that is possible and practicable. The incumbent will provide emergency/crisis interventions that are provided to Veterans in an effort to stabilize. The incumbent will provide psychotherapy as individual, group &/or family interventions when clinically indicated/appropriate and when of therapeutic benefit to the recipients. Emphasis is on providing Evidenced Based treatment interventions which include development of a positive and appropriate therapeutic relationship. The incumbent will provide consultation to other treatment team and staff members regarding psychosocial needs of Veterans and/or their families and the impact of the identified psychosocial problems on the Veteran's health care planning, compliance with treatment, and discharge planning. The incumbent will perform remote psychological testing when it is clinically appropriate to a treatment question as part of an assessment. The psychological testing scores and/or interpretive reports must be used in a manner that is clinically and ethically appropriate. The incumbent will document direct Veteran care at a minimum of 80% of the time allotted to direct care in the clinician's weekly profile. This includes individual therapy, groups, family therapy, couples' therapy, and direct clinical phone calls with the Veteran. The incumbent will establish and maintain effective therapeutic relationships with Veterans and/or their families. The incumbent will work independently with Veterans and their families who are experiencing a wide range of complicated medical, psychiatric, emotional, behavioral, and psychosocial problems. The The incumbent will promote effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, other Medical Center staff & with relevant outside community contacts as appropriate. They will be required to participate in multidisciplinary team meetings regularly and effectively as required by the supervisor. Learn more Pay: Competitive salary and regular salary increases When setting pay, a higher step rate of the appropriate grade may be determined after consideration of higher or unique qualifications or special needs of the VA (Above Minimum Rate of the Grade). Paid Time Off: 37-50 days of annual paid time offer per year (13-26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year) Selected applicants may qualify for credit toward annual leave accrual, based on prior [work experience] or military service experience. Child Care Subsidy: After 60 days of employment, full time employees with a total family income below $144,000 may be eligible for a childcare subsidy up to 25% of total eligible childcare costs for eligible children up to the monthly maximum of $416.66.
