Job Description
This is an OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT and will remain open until September 30, 2026 or until all positions are filled. The initial cut-off date for referral of eligible applications will be 30 March 20226, with subsequent cut-off dates every two weeks. Eligible applications received after that date will be referred to at regular intervals or as additional vacancies occur on an as-needed basis until positions are filled. Major Duties and Responsibilities to include but not limited to: Interpreting diagnostic imaging studies, including: Plain Radiographs (Xray) Computed Tomography (CT) Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Ultrasound (US) Nuclear Medicine (if applicable) Mammography (if applicable and credentialed) Performing image-guided procedures such as: CT/US guided Biopsies Drainage procedures Join injections/aspirations Fluoroscopy exams (e.g., barium swallow, upper GI) Documenting and communicating diagnostic results via radiology reports in a timely manner, Assist providers in performance of specialized examinations when requested. Consults with referring physicians regarding the appropriateness and interpretation of radiologic studies Adheres to VA policies, ensuring compliance with quality assurance, safety, infection control, and radiologic protocol standards Utilizes PACS and voice recognition software to produce timely and accurate reports Participates in Quality Management activities such as film quality, clerical checks, peer review and other activities as required. Contributing to the development and implementation of clinical guidelines and protocols Participates in call rotation on evening, weekends, shift telework rotation and holidays. Maintains licensure and continuing medical education in compliance with VA requirements. Other duties as assigned. Recruitment: A recruitment incentive may be authorized for highly qualified applicants. EDRP Authorized: Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) Authorized: This position is eligible for EDRP, a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of your start date. Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application. Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases Education and length of practice are considered through a formal pay-setting process to determine the final compensable salary (Base Pay + Market Pay) Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME) Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement) Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory CME: Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement (must be full-time with board certification) Malpractice: Free liability protection with tail coverage provided Remote Position: Yes - This position is eligible for remote work and is currently operating under an extension of the Return-to-Office (RTO) mandate. Please note that remote work eligibility is reviewed on an ongoing basis and does not imply a permanent remote work status until an approved exemption is approved. Employees in this role may be required to comply with future RTO requirements as determined by agency policy. Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting Work Schedule : Monday- Friday 07:30-04:00 pm or Monday- Friday 03:00-11:30 pm, with Some flexibility in schedule.
