Job Description
Major duties include but are not limited to: Serves as a data analyst to support data warehouse development, deploys reporting tools, maintain the employee dashboards, and delivers self-service reporting and analytic solutions. Selection of statistical techniques, report format, validity of data, and accuracy of results. Designs and conducts ad-hoc studies and analyses to provide data for the use of VCL officials. Applies analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to issues and studies concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of activities, which includes trending for future needs. Maintains accuracy and data integrity of databases, spreadsheets, and data warehouses. Uses large, highly specialized databases to recover statistical information needed for studies and reports. Collects, organizes, analyzes, and interprets highly specialized Veteran data from large databases. Develops procedures and recommends quality improvements in data collection, data extraction and statistical information systems. Provides data processing support for surveys, program evaluation, and special studies. Develops SQL code to produce stated analysis. Participates in special studies and fact-finding activities to develop required data and information for reporting purposes, and prepares administrative reports. Develops recommendations for corrective actions and methods to achieve efficient and effective operations. Applies analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to issues and studies concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of activities, which includes trending for future needs. Utilizes various software packages to include Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SQL, Power Bl, and Report Builder. May also use R, Python, and other analytical suits as needed to prepare special reports, forms, and correspondence. Prepares a variety of recurring and special action reports utilizing data from files and records maintained in databases. Prepares and presents briefings and information to management/supervisory official to ensure comprehensive program coverage and effective interface among VCL. Work Schedule: Tour of Duty is typically Administrative Hours. Tour is subject to change based on program needs. Compressed/Flexible Work Schedule: May be authorized upon supervisor approval after training per Agency policy. Remote: This is remote position. Selectees will work 100% of the time in a non-VA-owned space outside of the local commuting area of a parent station. The employee's workspace must be suitable for conducting business and as such, remote employees are expected to provide a secure, distraction-free home-based worksite with reliable high speed internet connectivity. The employee will be required to travel to the closest VA Medical Center or VA Outpatient Clinic for issuance of equipment, and as needed for technical support. Selectees will be required to self-certify that their remote workplace meets all safety, privacy, and internet speed requirements.
