You provide a critical service to your community by ensuring the accurate picking, packing, and movement of mail and packages through the national network. Job Duties • Order Fulfillment: Efficiently categorize, hoist, and maneuver moderate to heavy quantities of mail and packages to prepare for distribution and dispatch. • Packing & Sorting: Sorting and shifting mail items into appropriate containers to ensure they are ready for the designated delivery itinerary. • Equipment Operation: Utilize manual or automated scanning and sorting machinery to ensure all items are directed to the correct regional hub or delivery route. • Manual Handling: Load and unload mail containers from transport vehicles and move mail throughout the facility using manual or automated equipment. • Safety & Compliance: Fulfill responsibilities indoors, adhering to strict schedules and ensuring compliance with all USPS safety policies and organizational regulations. Requirements • Eligibility: Minimum of 18 years old (or 16 years old with a high school diploma). • Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or citizen of a U.S. territory. • Physical Ability: Capable of carrying moderate to heavy loads (up to 70 lbs) and standing or walking for long durations on a regular basis. • Core Skills: Strong attention to detail, dependability, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
