Job Description
This is an Open Continuous Announcement and may be extended beyond the current closing date until the position is filled. Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME) Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement) Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory CME: Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement (must be full-time with board certification) Malpractice: Free liability protection with tail coverage provided Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting The Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System is seeking a qualified Diagnostic Radiologist Physician within the Imaging Service as part of the Tele-Radiology Center Program . The incumbent works independently within the service and reports to the service chief. Duties include but are not limited to the following: Provides overflow interpretation services to remote client locations Interprets diagnostic digital radiography, CT, MRI and US examinations of the head, spine, neck, body, extremities and internal organs as appropriate Accesses studies for interpretation through the VISN 16 Picture Archiving and Communications System(s) and reports findings electronically through the VISN 16 voice-recognition dictation software Communicates and documents communication of life-threatening findings immediately to referring physicians at remote facilities Functions in a professional manner in all relationships with management, co-workers and referring physicians Protects printed and electronic files containing sensitive data in accordance with the provisions of the Privacy Act of 1974 and other applicable laws, Federal regulations, VA statutes and policy, and VHA policy. Protects the data from unauthorized release or from loss, alteration, or unauthorized deletion. Follows applicable regulations and instructions regarding access to computerized files, release of access codes, etc. Uses word processing software to execute several office automation functions such as storing and retrieving electronic documents and files; activating printers; inserting and deleting text, formatting letters, reports, and memoranda; and transmitting and receiving e-mail. Uses the Veterans Health Information and Technology Architecture (VistA) to access information in the Medical Center Computer System Work Schedule: Monday-Friday (tour of duty to be determined upon selection) Tele-Radiology positions were granted a 180-day mid-term extension from the return to office mandates for clinical staff. Although this position is currently remote, it is subject to change based on the needs of the organization. In which case office space would be assigned at a local VA Facility/CBOC or Federal Agency. This position may be filled as Virtual (i.e., the employee may work at a VA facility or VA-leased space other than the facility that is hiring the employee) or Remote (i.e., the employee will not work at a VA facility or VA-leased space. Typically, this means working from home 100%). Telework has not been authorized. VA supports the use of filling virtually to help attract and retain talented individuals in public service, increase worker productivity, and better prepare the agency to operate during emergencies.
