Physician Assistant - National TeleOncology

Duties include, but are not limited to: a. Clinical: The primary focus of practice is the clinical management of patients assigned to the patient care team. Participates as a key patient care team member in formulating treatment plans and monitoring patient progress. Utilizes and promotes approved standards of care, procedures, methods, techniques, safety precautions, and protocols in their application to patients. Collaborates with other medical center health care resources to ensure continuity of care. Keeps abreast of the latest trends, skills, procedures, equipment, and protocols relevant to patient care. Facilitates patient care and their entry and exit from various health care systems by establishing and maintaining liaison with medical specialists and associated staff. b. Administrative/Education/Research: Promotes and participates in delivering patient and family health care education. Attends conferences and committee meetings as assigned by the supervising physician. Participates, directs, and provides opportunities for staff development through in-service education. Facilitates responses/actions to patient inquiries regarding care and treatment received. Assures self-development responsibilities and maintains current knowledge of trends in the management of patients. c. Supervisory duties and responsibilities: Ability to provide clinically and occupationally focused orientation to new PA appointees and mentoring other PA staff members. Knowledge of the FPPE and OPPE processes to evaluate and assess patient care services provided by PA staff. Knowledge of the educational needs of PAs. Ability to provide leadership and clinical oversight of PAs at the facility. Ability to exercise independent judgment and perform tasks involving unique technical, supervisory, or administrative lines. Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse professional clinical staff. Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00-4:30pm Telework: Not Available Virtual: This is a virtual position.
