In this role, you’ll perform specialized clerical duties related to registration for outpatient testing, pre-admission, and full admission of patients from the Emergency Room, Outpatient Departments, and hospital admissions. You’ll also notify insurance companies of admissions, obtain pre-authorizations for outpatient testing as needed, and complete tasks assigned by the Department Manager and Department Assistant Manager. Key Responsibilities • Perform specialized clerical duties related to patient registration. • Process registration for outpatient testing, pre-admissions, and full hospital admissions. • Support admissions from the Emergency Room and Outpatient Departments. • Notify insurance companies of patient admissions. • Obtain pre-authorizations for outpatient testing as needed. • Learn to operate the hospital telephone system to relay incoming, outgoing, interoffice, and interdepartmental calls and call hospital codes when relieving the hospital operator. • Complete tasks assigned by the Department Manager and Department Assistant Manager.
