Job Description

You will be a subject matter expert (SME) in the field of propellant and fuel combustion modeling and simulation, experimentation, diagnostics, and testing. You will help lead Research and Development efforts within the 6.1-6.4 TRL to acquire new knowledge and new propulsion technology that aligns with the strategic goals of the Navy. You will collaborate with external DoD laboratories, industry, and academia on Research and Development efforts that align with the strategic goals of the Navy. You will be a technical point of contact for the Navy on questions or issues that arise regarding the combustion of propellants, fuels, high explosives, or pyrotechnics. You will help train and mentor new, journeyman, engineers, and technicians and stay current in fundamental and state of the art combustion and propulsion sciences principles, diagnostics, and experimentation. You will effectively interface and communicate, both orally and in written correspondence, with all levels of the interagency including military and civilian chains of command.
