Administration & Finance INFORMATION SYSTEM SPECIALIST Information System Specialist Salary Range: $29.56-$42.69 Per Hour DOQ plus benefits Deadline to Apply: April 30, 2026 Information Technology Department Full-Time Position. Under general direction of the Information Systems Manager, supports the City’s distributed computing environment; helps plan, direct, manage, and coordinate the City’s Information Services Division’s efforts to meet the technological needs of the organization; and performs related work as required. EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: • Serve as primary support for desktops, laptops, printers, peripherals, and software • Install, configure, and maintain operating systems and applications • Assist in network setup, troubleshooting, and administration • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access control • Monitor system performance and security, perform backups and disaster recovery • Help with IT projects, upgrades, and new technology rollouts • Document procedures, support user training, and create technical instructions • Collaborate with vendors and internal departments to resolve issues KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: • Proficient in Microsoft and basic Linux operating systems • Skilled in server/desktop virtualization, network design, and IP addressing • Familiar with Active Directory, group policy, Windows security, and server-based applications (Exchange, SQL, AD, CMS, Antivirus) • Experienced with MS Office Suite, AutoCAD, Adobe, and other standard desktop software • Able to troubleshoot hardware, software, and TCP/IP network issues on PCs, laptops, and mobile devices (Android/iOS) • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to work with staff, officials, and the public • Demonstrates sound judgment, flexibility, and ability to handle multiple projects in a changing environment • Capable of performing basic math and maintaining attention to detail • Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and on-call
