DEPARTMENT: Retail Operations COMPENSATION: Hourly Pay Range: $17.10 - $22.85 (this pay range represents the rates of pay for step 1 to the maximum step for this position in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement. The starting pay for the successful candidate will start at step 1) JOB SUMMARY: The General Merchandise Clerk (“GMC”) is accountable for delivering G.O.A.T. (Greet, Observe, Assist, Thank) service to our customers. This position plays a key role in supporting multiple areas of store operations and delivering outstanding customer service; therefore requires a versatile and adaptable individual who can take on a variety of tasks as needed throughout the store. This role consists of front-end responsibilities, including bagging customer purchases, retrieving shopping carts, and helping maintain a smooth and efficient checkout process. In addition, the position involves other responsibilities such as stocking shelves, organizing displays, fulfilling e-commerce shopping orders for customers, and assisting with floral and cut fruit preparation and presentation. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: The GMC may be assigned to one (or more) of several departments/assignments within the store and responsibilities may shift based on the operational needs of the store.
