Director, National Airspace System Security and Enterprise Operations

The Director of NAS Security and Enterprise Operations, located in the Air Traffic Organization (ATO), provides executive-level leadership, direction, and guidance to a large, complex, and geographically dispersed technical organization responsible for the round-the-clock, every-day, year-round operational management of the National Airspace System (NAS). The incumbent serves as the Cyber Security Executive accountable for ensuring that the hundreds of ATO systems and services are protected from cybersecurity incidents. Principal Responsibilities Oversees Cybersecurity for the ATO, including NAS Information Systems Security (ISS) strategic planning and implementation, and independent ISS assessments and security authorizations. Ensures the integrity and security of critical NAS systems and services. Performs operational oversight, monitoring, and certification of satellite-based systems and services. Manages domestic and international Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) owned and leased services and networks. Oversees comprehensive information security reviews, assessments, and audits. Provides ISS testing, evaluation, and ensures security compliance. Directs local, regional, and enterprise-level tactical and strategic event management, incident response, and the maintenance of real-time situational oversight of NAS systems, infrastructure, and services. Interacts, communicates, and collaborates with FAA senior executives and managers, key representatives of Congress, other Federal agencies, state and local governments, the aviation industry, Department of Homeland Security, Department of Defense and other stakeholders to develop strategies and solutions to assess security threats at enterprise levels.
