Job Description
This vacancy announcement will be open from May 15, 2026 to May 21, 2026 or when 25 applications have been received. The vacancy will close on whichever day the first of these conditions are met. If the application limit is reached on the same day the announcement opened, the open and close date will be the same. Candidates are encouraged to read the entire announcement before submitting their application packages. Project Description: IO/PCA seeks a student assistant for a special project designed to increase the IO/PCA team's understanding of Congressional Member and Committee sentiment towards the United Nations and other international organizations. This project has two main components: 1) tracking Congressional hearings, and 2) data input and analysis to an IO/PCA-maintained Member Biography database. The student would be asked to track relevant Congressional Committee websites for hearings with IO Bureau equities (i.e. on UN reform, fiscal responsibility, policies towards specific international organizations), watch the hearing, and provide a readout to the IO Bureau. The student would also be responsible for collating a backlog of one year of Congressional Member statements and data input into an established database. To do so, the student will research public statements from Members (i.e. press releases, public hearings, interviews, proposed legislation) on the United Nations and other international organizations, analyze the statements, and input to an IO/PCA-maintained database to create a comprehensive biography of Members' stances towards IO Bureau equities. Periodically, the student may also be asked to update Committee rosters and membership, particularly if the semester falls over an election period.
